DECEMBER 2017 —— CROSS COUNTRY SKIING AT WINTER PARK. Minocqua, Wisconsin. Demo days at Winter Park provide an opportunity to ski on new demonstration equipment (including boots, skis and poles), chat with ski representatives from the industry, and attend ski clinics. There is no obligation to purchase equipment. You will need to purchase a trail pass to ski the trails.
    We arrive in Minocqua on Friday to ski and regain our ski legs since last season. Lodging will be in a Minocqua area motel. Numerous restaurants in Minocqua provide a variety of foods at reasonable prices. Bring your own ski equipment or you can rent or purchase equipment at the Winter Park ski shop. Trip includes round trip auto transportation from Chicago and motel lodging.

WHAT ARE DEMO DAYS? ——

• DECEMBER 2017 (SATURDAY or SUNDAY) - Demo days on the above-mentioned trip allow you to experiment and experience new ski equipment. A demo day is a demonstration day to use ski equipment in this case.
• You are allowed to use the demo equipment at the ski area for a reasonable amount of time, usually about a half hour. On your return from the ski trails, you have the opportunity to try another pair of skis and/or poles. This gives you the opportunity to ski on several sets of equipment since several ski representatives usually attend demo days.
• The skis are usually the top of the line, the very best sold by ski shops.
• Some of the ski poles available for demo are ultra-light, expensive and suitable for serious skiers and racers.
• In addition to demo ski equipment and snowshoes, ski-waxing clinics, free ski lessons and drawings are held for various prizes.
• While Demo Days are an inducement to ski on new equipment, there is no pressure on you to purchase any equipment.

So, you missed demo days? All is not lost. Demo days are repeated every year at Minocqua Winter Park. Also, check with any ski shop and ask about the availability of renting demo equipment. Such equipment usually commands a higher rental fee but allows you to ski on top-flight equipment.
